Stuart & Ward LLP, a Denver-based criminal defense firm, directed its annual holiday giving to the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law and the University of Colorado Law School in lieu of corporate gifts.
The goal of the donations is to support law students planning careers in public service. Every attorney at the firm began their own career at the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender, and that grounding continues to shape how the firm approaches its work.
Public service work is where trial lawyers are made. Supporting students headed into it is a straightforward way to give back to the institutions that trained this firm’s attorneys.
